Nunca Estoy Sola

Aug 12–Aug 31, 2024

The Gallery

Patricia Zamarte is a Mexican sculptor creating life-sized figures that invoke presence through their meditative qualities. Guided intuitively by her hands and mind, she works with various elements including ceramics, fiber, light, and sound, allowing each piece to reveal deeper insights from her unconscious and embodying the belief in the necessity of an inner revolution rooted in loving awareness. Her work delves into the interior world within each individual being—the intangible, the unconscious, and the spiritual—investigating through spiritual traditions and scientific inquiry the connections between the immaterial and the material. This exploration is articulated through sensory figurative gestures within abstract forms and open spaces in the medium, which act as conduits between the inner self and the external world. In this context, her sculptural and installation work examines our perceptions of reality, the drives behind our decisions, and the forces that shape our inner and outer lives. The sculptures serve as a gossamer of my unconscious beliefs, arising from a process that functions as a personal mythology. Zamarte believes there is a rhythm in life, a cosmic dance that sometimes we just have to trust, and by doing so we might be able to find the Center.

Patricia Zamarte (b.1997) explores the existential experience through her sculptures and installation work, creating intuitively as her hands guide her. Inspired by human connections, nature, spiritual traditions, and scientific inquiry, each sculpture reveals these deeper learnings from her unconscious, embodying her belief in the need for an inner revolution centered on loving awareness. Holding an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Zamarte is a Mexican visual artist specializing in large-scale ceramic sculptures. Her work has been featured in Mujeres Mexicanas en el Arte by Editorial Águeda and showcased at Museo Soumaya. Her sculptures have been acquired by collectors in Mexico and the U.S. and she has participated in collective exhibitions in galleries across both countries. Her most recent solo show, Etérea: un puente ala esencia, captivated audiences in Monterrey, México. Zamarteevokes introspection and empathy through her art, igniting a profound connection to oneself and the other, intricately weaving a tapestry of beloved oneness
