Kim Weiss is a Milwaukee-based artist who applies her extensive knowledge of printmaking to multi-faceted installations that incorporate a variety of man-made and natural materials. Her installation in the Lunette windows in the lobby at Saint Kate features paper sculpture evergreen boughs and sculptural printed ornaments cascading down from the ceiling, all suspended from frosted wind chimes lit with a soft glow.
"For the holiday season I wanted to create something that feels joyful and abundant, in a composition that emphasizes the verticality of the architecture and window space," says Weiss. She infuses the warmth of her printmaking and paper elements with the coolness of metallic materials to create a varied visual and textural experience. Happy Holidays from Saint Kate!
